A goal on the stroke of half time turned this game around for the home side in this junior C match in Bohermeen on Sunday afternoon.
Veteran Daithí Regan playing his second match of the weekend opened the scoring with a point from play after two minutes, Kevin Cassidy added a second on three minutes before St. Ultans opened their account. Ben Farrell and Regan posted a further two points before St. Ultans got their second on 11 minutes. The visitors dominated the next 15 minutes with Farrell, Regan and the Lynch brothers Christopher and Ronan all adding points for a 0-7 to 0-2 advantage. St. Ultans regained their composure and in the final 5 minutes of the half they added 1-3 without reply, the goal coming in the dying seconds of the half to give them a slender 1-5 to 0-7 interval lead.
Regan levelled the match from a free two minutes into the second half, however St. Ultans carried on where the left off in the first half adding points with ease whereas the visitors could only add a further three points all from frees for the remainder of the half. St. Ultans completed their goal tally in a five minute spell at the start of the final quarter for a comprehensive victory and to leave it a weekend to forget on the playing fields of Meath for the three adult teams of St. Michaels.
