STRICTLY COME DANCING
CARLANSTOWN / KILBEG DOES STRICTLY
St. Michaels GFC and Carlanstown / Kilbeg Community Development ( CKCD ) joined forces to run a STRICTLY COME DANCING event on Saturday October 4th 2014 in The Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim Co. Meath. This event was to raise much needed funds for ongoing projects by both groups and it turned out to be a tremendous success raising a magnificent €85,000 before expenses with a capacity crowd of 1,050 filling the function room of the Knightsbrook Hotel. We sincerely thank all those who supported the event especially the people of the parish, friends and family of all the dancers and local businesses.
We congratulate the winning dance couple of Erin McGrane and William Fitzsimons

Along with having to learn all the dance moves, each dancer had to come up with ideas of raising money which was the whole point of the event and to their credit each and every one did their fair share of fundraising. Some of the events included: Race Nights, Fun Runs, Cake Sales, Tough Mucker Challenge, Pitch & Putt Competitions, Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Up for The Match ( before 2014 All-Ireland final ), American Tea Party, Quiz Nights, Tractor Run to mention but a few and it’s safe to say that the people of Kilbeg parish and surrounding areas had plenty to entertain them during 2014. A BIG THANK YOU to all the dancers for all their hard work and to all of you out there who supported the different events which was run by the contestants.
Here is a selection of photo’s from the different events plus the last rehearsal before the big night.
