U-8’s PLAY IN CROKE PARK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Tuesday morning July 15th 2014, a group of U-8 players, their mentors, parents, grand-parents and numerous supporters set off from Carlanstown on two of Tully Coach’s at 7-30am to participate in the GAA Go-GAMES in Croke Park. We had two teams playing simultaneously on two pitches side by side in front of the Hogan Stand. Here is a selection of photos from the day, I’ve taken pics from the first half of our first teams match and of the second half of our second teams match. We stopped off at McDonalds in Blanchardstown on the way home where you will see everyone was well fed and it was a brilliant end to a brilliant day for all involved. A BIG thank you to Tommy Moriarty and his mentors for putting all this in place and to Michael Tully for bringing us all there and back safe and sound.
AUGUST 23rd 2014
25th ANNIVERSARY of IFC WIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of our club winning the Intermediate Championship in 1989 we held a novelty match in which a Martin O’Connell Meath selection played a St. Michaels selection on Saturday evening August 23rd 2014. It was a good sporting match which ended in the inevitable draw. Colm O’Rourke, P.J. Gillic, Terry Ferguson, Mattie McCabe were just a few of past Meath players to take up Martin O’Connell’s offer of coming to Carlanstown to play and we thank them for doing so.
Refreshments were served in our Clubhouse after the match where a DVD of the 1989 final was played. Each of the 1989 panel received a DVD of the match and a copy of the match programme. A great day was had by all.
